Experience the excitement of acclaimed trumpeter and vocalist Jumaane Smith as he celebrates the origins of jump blues and jazz in Louis! Louis! Louis! You’ll hear his renditions of classics from Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, and Louis Jordan, along with music he composed especially for the show. Smith has spent the past 17 years touring and recording as a vocalist and lead trumpeter with crooner Michael Bublé. He has performed on five Grammy Award-winning records, on two Emmy Award nominated TV shows, and in director Steven Spielberg’s movie West Side Story. He has toured with his own band to such world-class venues as Lincoln Center, the Vail Jazz Festival, the Rochester International Jazz Festival – and, now, the MSU Riley Center.
